And Ghod forbid that anyone import US culture. Maybe the best way to stop such cultural imperialism is for outside forces to intervene where locals clearly condone such things.

Now, who best outside of Europe to stage an intervention? I believe that history shows only one country outside of Europe has the might and the structure to stage such an international intervention: and that's the US.

.... though they tend to bring American culture in their wake wherever they try out their military adventurism. But at least what the troops bring in on their own would be less of a mixing than what Italians or French might chose to import. Those US things which appeal to the Italians would be more contaminating than US things imported solely based on their appeal to US troops, right?

So, what say you? A complete occupation until France ceases listening to American music.

( We can depart secure in the knowledge that the French prefer Maghrebi music once the American cultural imperialism is gone. )

Oh, and speaking of crime series. Would Europeans please stop returning the favor? It used to be that finding Italian cinema with English subtitles was difficult enough. Now I've got to wade through season after season of imported TV crime shows before I can even find the few current film releases.
