"Or you could've just chillaxed by the Manga section of any bookstore where scores of moe-afflicted teens hung out. ( Back when there were bookstores. ) :(

Of course, the danger of networking with ANYONE who seems remotely interested in young girls "that way," is that they aren't necessarily Pedo-friendly.

Anime geeks are no more open-minded than others. Sure they absorb the culture and are amused. But many of them feel that fictional lolis and RL girls are two different things altogether. They might want to strike a pose as an "outsider," but they can be just as kneejerk Anti as the next guy outside of the persona they use to be "daring."

While unlikely accepting of children having sex with adults, I assumed people into such (particularly those interested in hentai featuring girls who look underaged) would be at least a little bit more accepting of pedophiles. But maybe not. :\ When I asked my brother how long he knew I was a pedo, he said it about the time I got into anime (which was actually the time I decided to let him know watching animes and was purposely going to let him find out about me). But I can see how such attitudes could lead to people becoming defensive or only playing the role for the lulz.

I sometimes wonder if my sister wouldn't care about me, partly because of her interest in Alice in Wonderland and seemingly not caring about Lewis Carroll being a pedo. But she can be closed minded at times, so I've never had any intentions of coming out to her.
