"Whether you are right or wrong in all the details isn't particularly important for evaluating the question of whether an age of consent is a good idea today."

Yes, but if you naively swallowed the false propaganda of the Victorian, the false propaganda of the Edwardian, the false propaganda of the prewar-and postwar; and every bit of mythmaking on the subject until the present, then you just might be conditioned to believe the same hogwash in the present.

Your statements about history and historical motives show a staggering ignorance and naivete concerning the propaganda promoted by child-protectionists with an ulterior motive.

But when you repeat their blather here, it becomes wisdom via argumentum ad populum.

The notion of historical exceptionalism is common among those who prefer not to study history. But every era has believed that it was the exception, that its culture was exempt from the flaws of the past, that its demons were unique and its areas of progress had peaked.

To believe that the AOC laws promoted by the child protection racket today are the best ones possible and serve the interests of the child is to believe that everything we could learn from the past has no bearing on the present.

Yes, I know you cite history to support you until your citations are disproven and then you reverse tack. But you might want to look into the background of the claims you act as a mouthpiece for in order to find out what company you've been keeping and how your children's children's children will judge you.
