If he were a civilian, I would see him as the victim of a broken legal system which GLers ought not promote.
But he chose to accept pay for putting others away. He bought into a system which doesn't parse out the just from the unjust to allow selective enforcement; so he supports the persecution of GLers. We must hold the lawmakers and LEOs to the very standards they are willing to destroy lives over. There are a lot of us around. If we all dedicated the amount of time to overturning unjust laws that some do to creating or enforcing them, then it would end sooner. There may be specialized jobs; homicide, traffic-enforcement. But everyone doing their part is supporting all the others. Even the paymaster of a unit facilitates the casualties it creates. If he worked any other gig, I'd have sympathy for what appears to be consensual. But not prosecuting the law. Dante |
