"the "virtuous" pedophiles are making somewhat of an impact in the mainstream media."
I see a flash in the pan over VirPed. I see a long lasting response year-in year-out to B4UACT. And as B4UACT is also influencing and facilitating reassessment by the relevant professions, I'm more hopeful of a lasting influence. They are grabbing headlines through substance, rather than being a novelty for media-types who remain perpetually ignorant about our self-control. * "News flash! Some Pedos say they aren't rapists. We'll return to this after our coverage of the Sandusky trial." * Its unfortunate that VirPed feels the need to disparage others. Despite repeated requests by many respected figures within the community they refuse to remove disparaging statements that indicate that dissent with VirPed's notions are due to "selfish interest" And by calling-out B4UACT in FAQ 15 over differences in those very areas of dissent, they imply that the party who is making real progress ( rather than just grabbing headlines ) should be looked upon with skepticism. I'd say its not a "start" but a setback. Dante |
