Looking at things "at the macro level" and seeing the "big picture" for what it is... yeah, IMHO, it really is rather off topic.

We have all seen how it is that people engaged in child pornography have become the high profile targets of the military police state. It's pushed down our throats everyday by the corporate run media.

Yet we also recognize that it really is a kind of scapegoating. Many of us see that the "need to protect our children from pedophiles" is no different than the "need to protect ourselves from terrorists". They are both little more than excuses to restrict liberty and privacy in a free society... both have been made the reason, and excuse, for free people handing over their rights, liberties and freedoms to the state and the corporations which control the real mechanisms of power.

As such, and even though there is an argument of how it all is on topic when looking at the issue from our individuated points of view, many of us I'm sure see that who and what we are and what we do... and who and what the real sickos are and what they do... are but little cogs in the big wheel.

Look at it like this:

In this day and age, what with the global war on terror, somehow returning veterans are considered the number one threat to national security... not militant Islamic males aged 18-44. Some people can't get on a plane without having their hands swabbed for explosives residue just because of their former military occupations.

So now, is the occupying army Bill spoke of here to keep pedos at bay... or vets? Or, does this army exist to strike fear in the hearts of one and all so as to better gain power and control, regardless as to who has been "advertised" as the primary target and reason for its existence?
