As for Horror cliches, a few of us who encountered it the first time around fondly remember a piece from the horror comic book Creepy entitled "The Super-Abnormal-Phenomena Survival Kit ( S.A.P. for short. ) It had a lot of advice on extricating onesself from cliched danger, or just plain avoiding it in the first place.
