"Didn't Fletcher Christian (of the HMS Bounty) initially come to Pitcairn with his Polynesian friends and women, and fellow mutineers, whereas, the same small community 'did their thing?'

Then the Brits came in later?"

False dichotomy. When Fletcher Christian came to Pitcairn the first Brit he took was himself. Just as the American Warren family brought an American presence by bringing themselves.

"Friends?" Eight of the 11 Tahitian women were abducted by the mutineers. And the Tahitian males who thought they were friends and not slaves were soon disabused of this notion. This is why the Tahitians rose against the British until the last Tahitian adult male was killed.
