"The part I was referring to specifically was "there are no half-measures in rejecting self-loathing"

..............

"but in the ordinary way of thinking about those words it sounds like an unrealistic slogan."

No, not ordinary.

What sounds weird to ordinary ears is "I'm fine the way I am but I'm broken and wrong."

Look to other minorities to see what sounds normal to ears which aren't trained to interpret self-loathing as acceptance.

You already did when you pointed to what the deaf really say ( and then went on to speculate that they can't really mean what they say. )

The APA has an unambiguous statement about orientational acceptance.

The real issue here is that you have been arrested at the beginning of a process and cannot believe that the rest of the planet is sincere when they tell you that there's more to it than "I'm OK, but I'm sick."

Just because you don't know what acceptance feels like is no reason to believe it doesn't exist when so many others clearly attest to it.

I would think that even if you're too biased to think clearly about Pedo-self-acceptance being a complete thing, that the failure of your analogies to match the experiences of those who work with those other communities might tell you that your thinking is backwards on the issue even if we were a case requiring "special pleading." ( And we aren't. )
