"I am speaking of sexual activity, in the sense of giving or receiving sexual pleasure with an adult (or another prepubescent child), as an ongoing, frequently desired activity."

And you're wrong there too.

But yes, toddlers aren't practicing penetrative sex with each other everywhere. They're just masturbating and stimulating themselves as if they hadn't been reading your posts. And when the horsey ride on grandad's knee is done working its magic, they say, "again."

Are you sure you've raised children? Because your experience of them sure as heck doesn't match mine, my Ex-wife's, my memories of childhood, or the anecdotal evidence parents relate in Dear Abby, Dr. Spock.......

In cultures without shame, particularly those cultures which don't toss sheltered inexperienced 18 year old "children" out into the world to fend for themselves, such sexplay is expected to become less diffuse and more of a rehearsal for adult responsibilities ( in THAT its no different from any other play and its use in easing the child into responsibility. )

And this one doesn't seem to be a social construct, it is observed by me even among the Nons that their little one's polymorphous perversity gives way with puberty to a rehearsal for adult experience. ( Its rooted in biology. Even the most restricted youth orgasms in their sleep as their genitals go through the required lubricating and spasming "test run." )

The artificial construct of "childhood" and its pathological extension "the adolescent child" is very exceptional and curiously localized in time and space. This blip, like the Witchcraft panic, is an exception rather than the rule about what is healthy and normal.

And kids keep on having the same desires they always have and often find ways to do what kids always have wanted to do. OTOH, some are thwarted by the Antis.

But hey, nobody really needs to sing, and its not like their health is affected when they want to sing and are prevented from singing. Is it?
