"I think that statisticson 'molestation' if accurate would show a correlation, that the lower the age of the 'victim' the more likely the 'perpetrator' is a pedo as opposed to non-pedo."

Unfortunately, no.

Rape, real rape is largely situational, opportunistic and about power. Often the targets are weaker or powerless and don't even speak to what the rapist finds arousing outside of the use of force.

Most prison-rapists are Heteros. And rape of the elderly ( which is much more common than you'd think ) is not committed out of a geronto orientation.

Rape of the elderly, the very young and the mentally challenged is about preying on the weak.

When it comes to "statutory" offenses you are right. But so many Teleiophiles choose child victims when situationally offending that the numbers get very skewed towards the young.

On the outside, former felons are no more likely to be raped by same-gender rapists than any other population. Inside its a different story. The numbers inside don't suggest that convicted rapists prefer felons as partners.

But yes, conflation muddies the waters to the point where very little meaning can be derived.

This is why its necessary to step back a few generations to see what LEA experts were doing before the child-protection racket and internet fueled hysteria started to blur things beyond all recognition. Back when they were resident experts within a broader field and didn't have institutions and allocations purely dedicated to their area of specialization.

( Just as you have to go back to before 9/11 to read unequivocal denunciations of ethnic profiling by criminologists. )

Creating a proxy race-war and throwing targeted money at it incentivizes seeing race as crime.
