That because you hate me you will defend Ethan even if his point against me argues for the geocentric solar system.

...the universe is geocentric. ;)

Motion, by its underlying nature, has to be defined in reference to something (see "relative motion"). What that reference point is happens to be, well, arbitrary; we tend to use a heliocentric solar system because, with the sun being the largest gravity well and hence the largest definer of planetary orbit, the math is a hell of a lot simpler and the resultant worldview a hell of a lot more rational-seeming...

...but it is equally valid to define a point on the earth's surface - say, the McNiel Island concentration camp, which (as well as a thousand miles or so in any direction plus benefits) has long been a sacred site.

At that point, it is empirical fact that the universe revolves around the earth in a 24-point-something-hour cycle. That's the fun of arbitrary points - one is as good as any of them.

That's the solar system, along with the universe, and pertains to relative motion. As to the universe itself, it is a fact that the universe is geocentric (even if its motion is arbitrarily-interchangeable) due to an underlying property of the universe : the speed of light.

The universe, to avaliable evidence, has a finite temporal length of directionality in a single direction - the past. Since the speed of light is fixed and temporally-depedent, that means that the universe has a fixed size and non-arbitrary center : ($time)-light-years centered on the point of observation, in this case, the earth.

The fact that we ended up with this point of observation is arbitrary. The fact the earth is the center of the universe is not, as it is inherent in light having a finite speed and the universe having a finite age : the earth is, objectively, the center of the universe. :)

Fun, huh?
