A general rule is... if you're putting a link with a long URL in your post, do not include the URL as the text to be displayed! Use a short description, instead. Since URLs don't include spaces, if they're longer than the reader's screen width, some browsers will widen the entire post to match the maximum length. The poor reader then has to scroll left-right left-right to read your post.
