I want to reclaim all the anti terminology. The battle for language shapes things as much as any battle in more "real" arenas.

We have already reclaimed the term "child pornography" so well that antis no longer say it, preferring instead "child sex abuse images" When we reclaim that term too, they will have to move again, and again, and again.

That is why I do not give up the term "pedophilia" (and I can see progress being made in its reclaiming) either.

And I want to reclaim all the other terms too. "Molestation," "Grooming," you name it.

And the etymology is well enough served too. Grooming means to care for and to prepare or train. It does require a receptive partner on the other end. If it expected passivity, it would have to be "programmed" or "commanded" but not "groomed." And I do not see what is wrong with its sense of caring for, training and preparing. That is what responsible adults are supposed to do as parents or teachers, for instance.

So, I am going to reclaim the term.
