1900, is perhaps one of cinema's greatest creations, starring Robert De Niro and Gérard Depardieu, two of the greatest actors of our generation. It has awards: Bodil Awards 1977, Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists 1977, National Society of Film Critics Awards, USA 1977, Sant Jordi Awards 1978, and Satellite Awards 2006. The film is listed on IMDB and is available on Amazon.com.

Yet, recently a guy (to remain anonymous), who seems to like films of this sort and who is probably a CL, told me that 1900 is "child porn".

How sad the world is in general, and how sad any of us are who have fallen to the world's anti-sex propaganda, that such a masterpiece of cinema can be degraded.

Let us hope that the future of film continues to bring us brave creative artists like director Bernardo Bertolucci. Let us hope that cinema sees the likes of Lasse Nielsen continue to make great films. (You Are Not Alone 1978.) Let us hope that another François Truffaut comes along.
