Lol, it's okay! Yeah, I'd say we're fairly rare. I do think my gender makes it easier for me to make friends with kids and have them in my life. I know it's a bit harder for males to form friendships with kids because of the social climate. People are paranoid.
It will die eventually. As for when, who really knows? I like to think that it will happen in my lifetime, but deep down I know it'll take longer. Homosexuality was considered a kink and a "sociopathic personality disorder" until 1973. Gays were seen as purely sex driven and are still to a degree viewed that way today. I hate the way that adults generally view kids. That's why I love democratic schools like the Sudbury model. Kids are treated as equals and are allowed self-directed learning without adult prodding. Age segregation doesn't exist, either. It's really neat and largely resembles how kids live life in hunter-gatherer societies. |
