It meant a lot to me to know I'm doing some good in this world, and rest assured the courage that you and the rest of the community has shown has been a huge inspiration to me on many levels, both in and outside of the MAP world.

A good summary of the historical transition you mentioned was described quite well by Judith Levine in her book Harmful to Minors. You should revisit that book, and I likewise recommend it to everyone who hasn't read it yet. I also have plans to create a timeline describing the events you mention, including many significant incidents that caused society to go from where it was in the 1970s to what it became a mere decade later.
