I feel adolescence originates far earlier, as a transitional period into societal participation (ie: Rite of Passage & all that BS).

With todays world seemingly hell-bent on widening the cultural void between children & adults, this act of transition is losing its own identity.

I could hypothesise into greater detail about this, but I really just CBF these days.
