Pedophiles are Child Molesters the same way that Heterosexuals are Rapists.

Unless someone is a raving sex-negative paranoiac, they understand that the statement about Heterosexuals means that "rapist" is not a property of the definition of Heterosexual. They understand that it is an accidental demographic overlap. And they know that it is not an issue that Heterosexuals need to wrestle with anymore than any other.

They know this well enough to dispense with equating the one with the other.

"There are rapists among the Heterosexual community," is a better expression of the facts. And one which the DOJ could actually support. Better still, "there are rapists in every demographic" is meaningful.

To argue as if Jewish armed robbers, or Black embezzlers don't exist and aren't a concern for their communities is to dismiss all the realities of harm while only looking at the stereotypes; to dismiss or confirm.

I believe that we can care about harm to children as something which matters a lot more than our PR campaigns. But that would mean talking about our orientation with as much objectivity as Heteros use when talking about theirs.

"No true Scotsman" requires a purging of real negatives. All we are asking is that the mythical propensities for a stereotypical crime be removed from discussing either actual crime, or the necessary properties of a demographic community.

Or must we dismiss Berhard Goetz and exaggerate Bernie Madoff because the stereotype demands that Jewishness be identified with financial deception and disassociated with physical violence?

Your risk is ( respectively ) from the urban vigilante and the ponzi schemer, not from the Jew.

It makes perfect sense when we aren't talking about Pedophiles. It ought to keep making sense when we are.
