For some perspective, from the old me, children who were assertive, especially with their bodies and sexuality, offended me. It made me mad. I would say "it's bad for the kids, they shouldn't be like that, they should have childhoods" but those were meaningless complaints. Meant only to support my preconceived notions and protect my moral views. In the end I did not know at all whether it was actually harmful for kids or not. I didn't care whether they were happy and enjoying themselves. It didn't fit how I thought it should be so it was wrong.
