Of course, and I'm not saying the documentary was without flaws. I never once claimed that. I'm just disputing Hajduk's claim that there is some government conspiracy to get pedophiles to reveal themselves so that they can round us up. That is patent bullcrap and Hajduk is using it to frighten posters here into thoroughly mistrusting the government. The government has never been a problem for the law-abiding MAPs I know who are out. I'm not saying they haven't made mistakes or gone overboard in other ways, but this nonsense about the gov't plotting to destroy law-abiding pedos needs to be challenged whenever it pops its silly little head up.

Your defense of the government on any level is really bizarre, Markie. The police is a branch of the government, and they have worked directly with antis like Chris Hanson and John Walsh in entrapment schemes against MAPs, to discover who they are and to bring legal hell down on them. The U.S. Post Office has likewise done so. Remember what they did to Paul Christiano? Many of these MAPs were law-abiding until these government agencies entrapped them into committing crimes. Yes, these MAPs should not have "taken the bait," and that was irresponsible of them, yet that doesn't change the fact of the frequent use of government agencies such as certain LEAs and the Post Office working with CA ("child advocate") vigilantes to do try and bait MAPs and other individuals into breaking the law.

The government is also responsible for suppressing any degree of objective scientific inquiry into the realm of the MAP attraction base, and of child sexuality in general. Note how the U.S. Congress unanimously voted to condemn the results of the Rind Report, for instance, when it didn't produce results that supported the official government party line. Note what happened to the late Prof. Harris Mirkin when certain senators demanded the publicly funded university he worked at fire him for his objective essay on the pedo panic or risk being denied a large degree of funding commensurate with his annual salary.

Let's not forget the lawmakers of the U.S. frequently passing laws that harass MAPs in many ways, but making extremely oppressive laws, including those that criminalize the production, possession, and viewing of animated or computer-generated CP in which no actual minors were involved. Note how even the authors of certain written fiction or non-fiction books in the U.S. who wrote about this topic in a non-condemnatory fashion have been brought up on charges for "obscenity."

This, as you say, is not a conspiracy. It's an open assault by the government against an unpopular attraction base that the powers-that-be do not want objective information available on. I'm sorry, but the government has caused lots of problems for MAPs in general, and has gone out of its way to make life as difficult as possible for law-abiding MAPs.

I believe you simply support the government because it stands on a party line that you currently support at this point in your emotional pendulum shift.

I also think it's an insult to real victims of war crimes that Hajduk conflates the illegality of sex with children and the legal consequences of that with such atrocities. He seems to genuinely believe that organized military genocide is being perpetrated against us, which is absurd on its face and easily proven false.

And as Hadjuk pointed out, what the LEA's in Britain did to Tom O'Carroll is very important. They did that to him because of his strong pro-choice views, which of course is another reason I imagine you defend the government. Their harassment of him has continued to this day, and the police have openly noted their disdain for what they refer to as "political pedophiles." And this despite the large degree of respect that Tom has in many academic and MHP circles.

For the record, I do not believe that there is literally the equivalent of military-style genocide directed at the MAP community. But there is widespread government oppression, and it does often use the domestic branches of the police and other government agencies such as the Post Office against us, including trying to trick and entrap us into committing crimes. The government doesn't need the military to deal with MAPs, and since I haven't read Hadjuk's posts in question, I'm not sure if he has made a comparison that is simply metaphorical.

All right, I'll say this to you, Markie: The anti-choice camp, along with the many government agencies, MHPs, the mass media, and academics who seek to suppress any type of objective study into child sexuality in general are major hypocrites for espousing concern for victims of war crimes. Many, many of these victims are children, yet considerably more attention and resources are brought to bear against preventing almost any instance of underage sexual expression, let alone actual activity, including but not limited to the promotion of the pedophile panic, than into preventing the use of land mines, cluster bombs, and drone attacks conducted largely by the U.S. government that kills, maims, and traumatizes far more children and adolescents than any degree of both consensual sexual activity and even typical sexual abuse could ever do. Real sexual abuse is a problem, no doubt, but the government inflates concern for it to a far disproportionate degree than it does for the children who have lost limbs, parents, their homes, or their very lives to the U.S. military in its ineffectual and perpetual "war on terror."

So considering all of the above, I don't think it's in any way unreasonable to accuse the U.S. government of engaging in outright fascist activities considering its oppressive laws against not simply MAPs, but the way it forces underage youth into the status of third-class citizens, engages in widespread censorship of scientific data which yields results that go against the status quo, and engages in vicious entrapment schemes here while engaging in destructive imperialist wars abroad. Of course, too many progressive activists who oppose the government's illegal and destructive foreign wars and attacks on freedom of speech at home gladly look the other way when it comes to its oppression of underage youths and MAPs as a corollary of its suppression of youth sexual expression and activity.
