I agree with you 110% about Santa Claus. I don't have a problem with the ritual itself, but it is taken WAY too far by most parents - so far that it becomes, in my opinion, a blatant abuse of the child's trust. Children can understand that Santa Claus is make-believe and still have fun with it.
