A routine plea in federal court Tuesday was so bizarre that even the judge left the courtroom.

In what is usually standard procedure for a plea deal, Judge Douglas Frazier asked Hamilton: "Do you want to plead guilty because you are guilty?"

To which hamilton responded: "It's hard to explain. I don't think I knowingly did this."

However, in court Tuesday, nearly every time the judge asked Hamilton a question he appeared to hem and haw - seeming unsure of the answer.

When he returned he said: "I have concerns. This court is not here to force you to plead guilty. Do you want to plead guilty?"

Hamilton responded: "Yes, but there are parts that bother me."
