I don't see what's dark about it. None of us expects society's attitudes to change enough in our lifetimes to allow man-girl sexual activity anyway. Whatever level of despair someone might feel need not be affected by just what percentage of girls are inherently interested in sex.

It does however have a big impact on social policies with trade-offs in them.
