... we are supposed to be in a higher moral position than our adversaries. Taking pleasure in extreme harm inflicted upon them is a sign of vindictive behavior, not behavior from someone who operates on a higher moral code. If there is no difference between the two in terms of behavior, then we are essentially no better than them. We need to be unlike our adversaries in terms of our coda of behavior, not just our overall ideology.

For instance, I would love to see the likes of Mr. Walsh and Ms. Winfrey dragged into court, and to have their lucrative careers fall out from under them. However, I do not wish either of them to be murdered, kidnapped, beaten senseless, etc.

And btw, did you pick Lex Luthor and Dr. Evil as your pop culture villains simply because both of them happen to be bald?
