In case you didn't pick up on it, the misguided pro-contact site was of course Girl Chat. I'm not sure if declining to name it was a slight or a favor. But in any case he posted for years, longer than I've been (mostly) lurking here. He had a major falling out at one point, left, came back, left, etc. It's obvious he was never totally at peace with himself, but I think he's an alright guy. VirPed is a better fit for him though.
