I was discovered by my mom once. She just kind of smiled and left the room again...
I did not receive any sex ed per se at home either, but whenever I asked some sex-related questions, my parents allways attempted to answer my questions.
Your're surely a man, ain't you? Parents are usually most protective when concerning about daughters. If a boy masturbates or talks about girlfriends or even asks questions about sex, it's okay. But if a girl only thinks about those, her parents start thinking she's going a pervert way and she needs to be 'protected' from this kind of 'immorality'.
You don't hear many women saying they usually masturbate or go to sex shop, or rent porn movies...they fear being called perverts.
