...in other nations apart from the U.S. and U.K., and I would love to travel to Mexico one day for a visit, though I don't think I would be there long enough to make friends with a TG, and the U.S. has attempted to place legal restrictions on Americans traveling abroad "for the purpose of engaging in sexual encounters with people under 18." This was an idiotic attempt by the U.S. to say that, in regards to sex, "when in Rome, you had best do as an American must in America."

And far from being pessimistic or gloomy, I'm very optimistic about our community achieving emancipation right now. And as I told Red Baron before, if the laws weren't against me, I couldn't care less what anyone thought about my starting a relationship with a TG. It's NOT a matter of social stigma that concerns me, but the matter of ending up in jail, and my YF ending up facing the social workers of the "sex abuse industry." Thus, with the laws as they are today, the last thing I would ever do is suggest that anyone here take a risk by openly starting a relationship with a LG or TG in defiance of the law. Even a friendship would be very risky, especially if a mutual attraction developed, or if you are "out" in RL, as I am, since I would have more eyes on me at any given moment then a fly possesses on its multi-faceted peepers.

This may sound gloomy, but it's based on a desire to stay out of jail.
