I was on the bus riding home this afternoon and a hispanic boy sat next to me when he and his dad and sister and group of people got on the bus.

I struck up a conversation with him and his dad and found out the boy was eight years old and they called him Junior.

After we talked we sat silently during the rest of the trip, stealing occasional glances at each other and smiling when we caught each other's eyes.

His sister was sitting across the isle watching bot of us so I smiled and waved at her. She just gave me a smile and a look as if to say: "Thanks for noticing me."

They arrived at their stop and got off the bus.

As they stood there on the sidewalk and waited for their dad to get off teh bus and waited for the bus to pull off, they looked up into the window where I was sitting and smiled. I smiled back. The girl walked up the sidewalk some with her dad while the boy stood tehre put his back pack on.

Just as the bus was pulling off, the boy smiled once moer and waved.

I smiled back and waved at him.
