Virtual GM

About 10 years ago, I was heavily into using CB radios. One day as I was monitoring and chatting on the call channel, I heard a cute voice asking for someone to talk to. This cute voice was being ignored for about 5 minutes, till some of the regular users started to tell this LG to piss off and go play with her dolls. The Lg came back and said that she just wanted to talk to someone. I then decided that I should do something, so I told her that if she really wanted to chat, to go to another channel and I would be there. I then switched over to the other channel and waited for her to turn up. When she had arrived on channel, we started to chat about different things. I found out that she was 10 and her friend with her was 11. She was using her fathers CB while she was waiting for her brother to finnish his soccer training. She told me what music she liked and how she was going in school. She informed me that her fave ice-cream flavour was chocolate and her friends was strawberry. I also found out that she lived a couple of blocks from my house, but I never met her (however, I did see her a few times playing in her front yard). After chatting for about 30 minutes, she told me her brother and father were coming and she had to go, so I bid her farewell and told her that I hoped that we chatted again sometime. She said that she would like that very much. After she went, I went back to the call channel and listened to the other people for a while. About 20 minuted later, I heared someone calling out my handle (nic). I didn't recognise his voice, but I answered him. It was the LG's father. He thanked me for chatting with his daughter and keeping her company while he was busey with his son's soccer team. I told him that it was no big deal. He then went on to say that he was glad there was 1 generous person out there among the assholes that usually use the CB. He got some comments from the same guys that told his daughter to piss off earlier. Now that I think back to this, it was sort of like he 'flamed' them.
