I would be quite cautious. Be friendly but distant when the mom
is around. For people that are too touchy huggy these days have
the police called on them. Once she is gone, hug to your hearts
content. Only when you have been around the mom enough that she
trusts you and you are almost "part of the family" can you dare
to show affection to the girl with the mom's approval.
