Her parents are now sensitized and just about anything you undertake can and will be misinterpreted to your disadvantage.

In this highly charged asinine time, I would not attempt any further contact that could be interpreted by others as improper.
I have not been in your situation but even thinking of the potential consequences for you (and her as well) are chilling.

In your place, I would have no kind of contact unless under the eyes of others and then strictly social and relating to the topic of the gathering.
I would now be afraid to get too far away from the group at a meeting and possibly be interpreted as having a 'private' conversation.
