I do greatly prefer the term pedosexual. However, as someone once pointed out to me, using a term like pedosexual causes people to focus on the sexual aspects of our feelings and it makes us look as if that's our main focus as well. This is true of the word homosexual as well. If you meet someone and they tell you "I'm a homosexual" your first thought is that they are someone who has sex with members of the same gender. You don't automatically think about the fact that they go on dates, share tender moments, hold hands, confide their inner-most secrets, feel safe and protected in the arms of their mate, etc. First and foremost, you think of sex (but perhaps this is just human nature).

I wish there was a word that could convey the fact that just holding a little girl in my arms, loving her and knowing that she loves me, is more satisfying than any sexual act could ever be (at least, on an emotional level). Sigh... Such a word doesn't exist, I fear.
