Ack!!!

Another thing, I just downloaded PGP and I want to ask how I can create a good password for it. Could I use books for that? Say I take some book from my bookshelf, okay, this happened to be Joyce, the other one is something else. How could I use these books? Any ideas? I think that way the pw could be memorized better.

Sorry for yelling. But using known texts is only slightly more secure a method than using your own name. Good password cracker programs have full dictionaries to attempt every word in the language, and common combinations thereof. Really good password cracker programs -- the ones owned by governments -- have a good section of the best selling books in history. They search for phrases from those books. It works even better when they have a list of the books that you have on your shelf, which they'd surely have if they charge in and seize everything.

The best passwords are completely random, but of course those are almost impossible to remember. The best balance between random password and something you can actually remember is through use of a "code phrase". This is when you remember a phrase that only really makes sense to you, like:

"My first car was a '69 Chevy." Take the first (or second, or third, whatever you can remember) letter from each word (or every other word, whatever):

"My first car was a 69 Chevy"

This gives you for a password: "Mfcw69C"

Change capitalization as you prefer, but use both upper and lower case. Include numbers. The example I gave above only resulted in a 7 character password: use as long a phrase as you can remember, to give you as long a password as possible. Longer is better.

Oh, and don't pick a phrase from a book and use that to construct the password. Those are the ones they seach for first. Also: don't write the phrase or password down. Not on a piece of paper, not in a file on your computer. Not anywhere, ever. EVER.

There's more on this subject; I could type for days. But follow these rules and you should be mostly safe. (Of course, not doing anything illegal will also help keep you from being "outed", too.)
