Here's an interesting story that demonstrates just how strong PGP is. Are you using it primarily for email or for file encryption? If you've got Win 98 and your primary interest is OTF file encryption, you might also want to take a look at the free version of Scramdisk. It's a strong, small and elegant program. It can fit on a floppy and be run from there. If you're using strong encryption like PGP, Scramdisk, etc., remember that the weakest link is going to be you and your passphrase. They'll either beat/threaten (in England RIPA) it out of you, attack the pp, assuming it to be weak, or use keyboard loggers (hardware or software) or maybe a hidden carmera in your computer room to get it. Choose the longest random passphrase that you can come up with and safetly remember. Like others have said, don't use quotes, etc. from books. An online pp generator might be an option but I'm too paranoid to trust that someone isn't monitoring my connection and might capture the webpage that my pp is generated on.
