And here I was expecting to be posting a message today titled, "I have a little girl friend!"

And here's how it went - I had just met her, actually, and she was about 12, but very sweet (and cool) and simply the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She had dark hair and a beautiful voice and ... well, she was just perfect.

Well, it came about that she was staying over at our house, and my cousin was as well (I can't really recall why - but I wasn't complaining) ... at some point, we were talking around the dinner table, my cousin, her, my grandma, and me. She sat across from me - I kept finding things I liked more and more about her, about her personality.

Now, this particular morning it just so happened that she was wearing a t-shirt with a Linux penguin on it, and a baseball cap to match... Well, I just so happen to love Linux. So, I commented on it thusly - "I LOVE your t-shirt, linux rocks! Will you be my girlfriend?" (it sounded more convincing when I said it then it does when I type it) - of course, I said it initially as a joke.

She nodded immediately and said, "Yes!" I was really shocked at first. Here I was in front of my grandma and cousin and I had just made a 12 year old girlfriend. I responded, "Are you serious?" She said, "Yes." So I, in my growing love for her, responded, "Okay!"

Thus, we were girlfriend/boyfriend... just like that. My family apparently took it well (they knew I wouldn't do anything bad with her, I suppose) and life was good. In fact, that very night we were snuggling and hugging and acting just like we'd been close for ages and ages. We just fit like a glove, it was awesome. Just incredible to feel so much love in return for my own. It was apparent to everybody that we were made for each other. Not even age barriers could have kept us apart. So nobody bothered oppose us.

At this time I had the thought that I should log on to girlchat and post about my fortune, "I have a little girl friend!!!" (bragging rights, ya know) - and tell how it is the most wonderful experience in the whole wide world, but I cannot.

You see, somewhere along in our perfect world, our perfect love came to a screeching hault some time the next day. The phone rang.

I woke up from this DREAM

It was somebody from work wanting to know if I could come by and fix their home computer. I sat silent on my end of the phone and shed a single tear - the sadness I felt because that whole experience had not been real was far too overwhelming. "No. I don't do that anymore." I hung up and crawled back into bed, dazed.

HELP! I need a little girlfriend IN THE REAL WORLD! My dreams are slowly killing me! It's like being torn away from my lover every time I wake up!
