Mon dieu! Why did nobody tell me? (movie review)

"In an old house in Paris what was covered in vines,
lived twelve little girls in two straight lines.
... and the youngest one was Madeline."

I knew about the books, but I never knew there was a movie based on the books! Plus, it's not animated, but with twelve real girls, and every one of them is beautiful (some more than others, of course, but no dogs in the pack). This movie is like "Annie" only without the grungy wardrobe. The girls are from 6 (Hatty Jones as Madeline) to about 10 or 11, and anyone who likes girls in that age range will love this movie, I promise. Since they are all in my range, I'm half annoyed that nobody here told me about it and I had to find it quite by chance.

On a related note, I finally had a chance to see a different movie, "Hansel and Gretel" starring the beautiful and adorable Taylor Momsen. She's beautiful and adorable (did I say that already?) but I ended up fast-forwarding past most of the rest of the movie after figuring out how dumb it was going to be. Oh, for her fans, Dakota Fanning plays a small role, for which she was perfectly cast.
