Sad day at camp today. GM kinda.

So it was the first day of the new session, and I was the counsellor for the 3-5yo group instead of the 6-12 group I'm usually in. But it was good because the 6-12 group was depressingly full of older-ish boys and there were a couple returning 3-5 girls that I really wanted to have (in my group I mean). ;)

But the sad part was there were two new little girls who's first day it was at the camp ever, and they started to cry when their moms started to leave, and there was no stopping them. They basically sat and cried for a solid hour. It was heartbreaking.

But once they started having some fun - who doesn't love a piggy-back relay race? (oh wait, I know - my bosses. Not really supposed to pick them up, but it got them to stop crying for good so I don't really give a darn what TIIC think.)

Then we had some good fun the rest of the day. One of the two criers started again later in the day (I think she was tired) but I got her calmed down quickly.
