I'm not so sure

It was pretty dark, and most of the time it seems as though her mom doesn't even acknowledge her existence. What she does notice, she often misinterprets. About a month ago someone asked me whether it "bothered" me that several little girls had a crush on me, and her mom quickly jumped in and said no, her daughter and I were just good friends. Also, during the vacation she repeatedly referred to the both of us as "children" or "kids", even though I'm in my 20's. That's the really scary thing; no matter how much we flirt, her mother seems to remain convinced that we are just goofing around. Her father is a little more aware, a little more paranoid about us, but at least I KNOW that he's willing to deal with a certain level of paranoia. I'm not really sure what to expect once her mom begins to suspect romance...
