Brief GM

Recently, I was at my favorite place - my local indoor pool. I was sitting along the edge of the pool, just watching the kids play. Along came an lg about 6 y/o. She swam over to the edge, pulled herself out of the pool, and sat next to me. Right next to me. Very close to me. Prior to this we had not any contact of any kind. I looked over at her, she turned her head and smiled (which I quickly returned). She then proceeded to adjust her mask, and talk to her mother who came out of the pool and sat on the other side of her. Over the next 10 minutes, she jumped back in the pool, got out to sit next to me, talk to her mother, etc. Each time she got out, she would sit alot closer to me than her mother. Each time, she'd give me a smile, and go on to whatever she got out to do.

She never spoke to me, and (surprisingly) I never heard her mother say anything to her about not sitting so close to me. I did talk a very little bit with the mother, but only to comment about what the lg was doing in the water. It was refreshing to encounter an apparently non-paranoid mother, and a friendly lg.
