well, i think using common sense would help keep you on the right side of "the line", but of course, common sense isn't much good when dealing with the dreaded gray area. if you're in a "gray area" situation, you'd probably be better of staying on the cautious side of "the line". I believe that would keep you safe.

I would have been hard pressed not kiss her hurt lip, and i'm not sure that that act alone would have crossed any lines. I think you might have been ok to kiss her sore lip. Asking her first and getting a yes would have prevented any line crossing in this case, in my opinion.

it's like people that can't recognize the difference between harmless watersnakes and venomous cottonmouths. I tell 'em if you don't know what it is, don't touch it. that's the best way not to find out the hard way you misidentified it.

You know what I mean? I DO KNOW what you mean. I've been in that gray area and had to fight with myself to stay on the cautious side of that line. if i had your email address, i could email you that gray area GM.

it can be tough, but you got to put self-preservation ahead of enjoyment, sometimes. Play it safe. :)
