This girl is not a touchy-feely sort of girl. She doesn't hug anybody, except her mom. If she had ever given me any sort of indication that she liked hugs, or was open to them, I would have hugged her long since.

I feel sad about it, too, but I can't impose my own wishes for innocent physcial contact any more than I can impose my wishes for non-innocent physcial contact. It seems to me that in any relationship between an adult and a child, when it comes to touches the child has to make the rules. [And if they haven't been brainwashed by the control freaks, then they know how to make good rules.]
