Yup,

The copyright period was intended to be long enough to cover the life of the creator plus that of their immediate family; spouse, kids etc.

Now its going to perpetually be extended to include 1923 so that Mickey Mouse and Mein Kampf can't go public domain.

I kid you not. The two biggest forces in extending the date are Disney and the German government. One to control, the other to suppress.
