I am fond of the style. Particularly Alphonse Mucha. Sure there's an overkill of books on the man. But like M.C. Escher, Mucha is worth all the attention. Its really in the Documents Decoratif that his portraits of LGs shine. I also like many of the Teutonic artists working in the Jugendstil.

And indeed, it was Niven & Pournelle's Inferno that made me curious enough to seek out the original. I recommend the Dorothy Sayers translation as she keeps to the original Terza Rima meter.
