Several great GMs today

Today I happened to go to a beach. (Well, maybe I didn't just *happen* to.) Clear, blue sky, very breezy, kind of cool, but warm, too, if you know what I mean.

This particular beach is one of the flattest I've ever seen. When the tide is out, the water is well over a mile away from the high-tide mark. Hundreds of boats get stranded on the sand. Some of the owners have little 'stands' for the boats to rest on while they wait for the tide to come back in.

Dozens of families had parked along the seawall which separates the beach proper from the road. This seawall is only a couple of feet high, so you can see over it easily from your car as you cruise slowly along. The kids in their bathing suits were running all over the place. Some of them had run out so close to the water that you couldn't really see them. But others were running along just past the wall. And of course others were spread all over the sand in between these two extremes. A few were running around on the road itself. One of those times when hundreds of pedestrians [and I do mean PEDestrians] outnumber the cars by such a factor that it's every car for itself, and the devil take the hindmost.

I was the hindmost. On purpose, so I could drive VERY SLOWLY! I got quite a few eyefuls.

And then something miraculous happened. I came upon a part of the seawall where no one was parked. Nor were there any pedestrians around. And, behold, perched on top of the seawall, lying on her tummy on top of a colorful spread-out beach towel, feet toward me, head facing away, reading a book, was the most delicious LG you could imagine. Getting brown as a pecan shell, except for the tiny parts that her bikini covered. But did I worry about the state of her skin care? NOOOO! I just gawked. And as I rolled slowly by, she leaned up on her elbows and gave me a huge smile and a nice wave. Beautiful jet black hair pulled back behind her ears with a rubber band or something. Round cherubic face. Couldn't have been a day over eleven. No an adult in sight. In fact not another *person* in sight at that particular spot. She wasn't *quite* as slender as I prefer, but she was very nice to look at all the same.

Did Jensman tempt fate by stopping his car and getting out to chat? No he did not. He savored the experience, but he rolled on by.

About half an hour later, I had just gotten back into my car in the parking lot of a huge supermarket, preparing to depart. Behold, here comes another eleven-year-old, or so, exquisitely slender going on skinny, very tomboyish looking, with short-cut blonde hair and blue eyes. All by herself, just walking toward the store. No bathing suit this time, but tight enough pants and top so one could well imagine. Gasp time.

Did she sashay on past, ignoring Jensman in his car completely? No, she did not! She turned and looked, and saw that she was being looked at in no uncertain terms. Turned away and walked a few more steps, then turned again, as she was heading away. And waved! No mistaking it. She knew she was appreciated, and she acknowledged it. Not a hint of flirtation or anything unnatural about it. Just a salutation between beings who knew.

As someone said in an earlier thread today, some days are better than others. Today was one of the best.
