Well, actually (at least here where I live) liking children - of course, not in a sexual manner - is seen as a positive thing: If you have "the patience" (as they call it) to be with the kids, to listen to them, to play with them, you are seen as a good person.

Many were the occasions when someone has said to me: "Oh, I'm sorry for my child, she has bothered you a lot, thank you for your patience." or "How nice of you to be so kind to my child, thank you!".

I remember once I was in a birthday party and there was a little girl, she was about five, and was very very cute. The other kids were playing in the garden, but she was inside with her parents. In no time I was playing with her and she liked me very much. We had lots of fun! Her father came smiling to me and said: "It is a miracle you have made, my daughter never goes with anyone, she has never played with someone the way she is playing with you now. She liked you very much, it never happened before! She's always so shy...!".

The truth is that most of the people nowadays don't even give the attention that children deserve...
