I don't believe that children should be discouraged from exploring their sexuality.

That's not the same as believing that I should be the agent of their sexual awakening. That will happen on its own timetable. And if I befriend an LG it should be with no agenda other than friendship.

Hmmm.

It just dawned on me that I do the same with adult women. While I'd like sex as much as the next guy, I've never chatted up a woman for the purpose of getting laid. Friendship is more important. And by having no expectations, I open myself up to all possibilities.
