If you really believe that a child should have control over their lives, why is it wrong to treat them the same way you treat an adult woman when entering into a relationship? She is either an equal human being or she is not.
Yes, dating is flirting, is showing the best qualities of yourself to someone with the purpose of creating a bond that leads to a sexually intimate relation...
Grooming is doing that taking advantage of their weaknesses.
It is not wrong to treat a LG the same way you'd treat an adult woman, as a date or in entering a relationship.
The point is, as you said, that either she is an equal or not. I have no problem with anyone befriending / flirting with a LG as an equal. (Well, I do have one, but it's not a problem about ethics, but about how society is so screwed up that even that becomes questionable...)
But I do have serious problems with anyone grooming (as in, lowering her resistance through taking advantage of her weaknesses) a LG or an adult, for that matter. And it was such that was hinted at in the post - taking advantage of her need for money to make her acquiesce (not consent, acquiesce) to sex...
That is what makes a difference to me...
