I'm sure there were plenty of missed opportunities.

I see so many wonderful girls, but it is too dangerous - both to me and to them - to tell them how wonderful they are. I know many of them need the love and attention that I could give them, but it's just not possible in the current environment.

One girl I know, I saw her crying in church one day, and I saw that where she was doodling on the program, the word "ugly" appeared several times. She's a quiet girl, a bit shy, but beautiful. I could only guess that someone had told her she was ugly. An idiot and blind, whoever it was. In any case, not much I could do, until I had an opportunity (an excuse) to send her an anonymous note a couple months later, in which I mentioned her beauty as sort of a sidenote.

Incidentally, last time I saw this girl she had a friend sitting with her - unusual for her. What's more, you know how pretty girls tend to pair up with homely girls? She was the pretty girl in this pair, and that's saying something because the other girl wasn't bad looking herself. So nice to see!
