I don't think it has to go as far as rape. Just a little "inappropriate fondling" can get one in a heap of trouble.

While I appreciate what you're saying, I'm not sure that I could "just be a friend to a little girl." I just suggest playing it safe.

Thanks again for the clarification. I had difficulty seeing, given my feelings and the social context, how I could want to get close to a child without also wanting to be physically affectionate. Since I believe it is natural for children to want to be physically affectionate toward adults, the temptation is just too much.
